Over the past few years, Centurion Arms has earned the reputation of producing premium quality parts and accessories for the M4 platform. My first introduction to their product line was through their excellent C4 HK-style diopter sights. These sights resemble those found on HK rifles and sub-machine guns, but incorporated features for the sophisticated shooter, such as same plane diopter sights, lightening cuts, and slotted screw heads instead of silly Philips heads.
Since then, Centurion has added premium DMR uppers as well as the innovative C4 and CMR free float hand guards. Recently, there has been a shortage of bolt groups in the market. Centurion has responded by offering magnetic particle inspected, bolts. The carriers are full M16 profile, chrome lined, with well staked gas keys.
They are available now through select dealers.
Good morning Tim,
As I understand it, Monty intentionally does not have his Bolts HP tested, since he believes that HP testing leads to shorter Bolt service life.
You are correct, and I remember a conversation with Monty a while back regarding this very subject. I put a lot of stock into what Monty says due to his extensive background in weapons testing and development. The above narrative has been corrected. Thanks!
I have been using one of Monty’s BCG’s in a complete C4 for quite a while with zero issues. It was just treated with Robar NP3 and is currently undergoing some serious testing using a suppressed host. Early reports are that the NP3 coating on the BCG is offering increased reliability and much easier cleaning. I had great results in early testing in the Centurion carbine (non-suppressed). The combination of the Centurion BCG with Robar NP3 is a real winner.
ROBAR is currently plating two C4 BCGs for further testing by Centurion. I am confident that plating the C4 BCGs or any AR15 BCG with NP3 will increase reliability and service life, but I work for ROBAR so I am biased.
