Photo of the Day: Goldmember’s 1911?

While visiting my buddy’s local gun shop, I saw this in the repair bin and knew I had to share it. The pistol appears to be plated with actual gold, and fully engraved. You get exactly ONE guess as to what caliber for which the pistol is chambered. You’ll notice even the sights are plated. Just goes to show you that the taste some people have exists only in their mouth.

  3. Tom Selleck has a gold-plated 1911, done by a local 1911-only pistolsmith named Barry Greyson. According to lore he started the trend away from 24k plating to vastly more durable 10k plating.

  8. The owner of that 1911 probably thinks the same of all the cookie cutter multi-cam ARs out there… Just saying.

    Because I had to look high and low for a .38 Super that was just plain blue. Not an IPSC race gun or a pimptacular creation like the above.

  10. Haters……while that one is probably in .38 Super, my Chrome with Gold small parts, 1911 is in .45 ACP. No, I am not kidding.
